The Holland Area Arts Council seeks a dynamic, creative individual to become our next Executive Director. This vibrant gallery, education, and outreach center requires an innovative, collaborative Director with excellent leadership, fundraising, and administrative skills who is willing to grow the organization and is dedicated to enriching our community and region's cultural and social life.

The successful candidate will have strong skills in strategic thinking, organizational management, and leadership, specifically:

  • Ability to convey a passion for the arts

  • Proven Fundraising experience

  • A commitment to engage with the community

  • Key skill sets include, but are not limited to, public speaking and creative thinking

  • High-level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to staff, the Board, volunteers, and donors.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills across a broad spectrum of disciplines

The Executive Director (in collaboration with the Board) is also responsible for developing and managing annual funding, public and corporate grants, major gifts, special events, and capital campaigns.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sustain, articulate, and implement the artistic vision and organization mission.

  • Ensure the organization maintains best practices in visual arts exhibitions, outreach, and education.

  • Foster and maintain collaborative community relationships and relationships with the broader arts community.

  • Oversees fiscal management of the organization and reports financials to the Board of Directors on a regular basis

  • Develop and maintain fundraising and philanthropic support.

  • Maintains clear and transparent communication between the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and donors

  • Implement board policies and, in collaboration with the board and staff, develop goals to meet the Arts Council's mission.

  • Serves as the chief spokesperson for the Holland Area Arts Council in the community and with the media.

  • Manage professional and administrative staff and volunteers

  • Foster opportunities for staff professional development

Salary: $55,000 –$75,000 annually
