ESSENTIAL ARTS

The Essential Arts programming at the Holland Area Art Council strives to create accessible art opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. In addition to our in-house programs at the HAAC, we visit and service area organizations with a variety of art activities.

Art4All

For more than 38 years, the Holland Area Arts Council has offered programs that support artists of all abilities. Art4All is one of our longest running and most valued programs, designed for adults with disabilities who enjoy creating, socializing through art.

Art4All meets for an hour and a half with a group of 10 to 14 students. Every week features a hands on project that gives participants the chance to try printmaking, weaving, clay sculpture, painting, movement based activities, and more. The setting is relaxed, comfortable, and structured to support adults with a range of abilities.

There is a suggested donation of 20 dollars per month for those who attend. The suggested fee helps us purchase quality supplies for the class, outings for field trips, art exhibition entry submissions, etc.

Art4All gives adults meaningful opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, and artistically. The program promotes independence, creativity, and connection, while providing a positive weekly routine that many participants look forward to all year.

Volunteer Opportunities with Art4All

Volunteers are an essential part of Art4All. They greet students as they arrive, assist instructors, help prepare materials, support participants during projects, help clean up and put supplies away and wait with the students to be picked up.

Art4All is an ideal place for volunteers who are interested in art, community service, adult support programs, or inclusive education. Volunteers gain hands on experience, learn to support adults with diverse needs, and become part of a community that is kind, uplifting, and purposeful.

Organizations and schools can support Art4All by
• sharing volunteer opportunities with students or service groups
• encouraging service hours
• helping spread the word to families who may benefit from the program

Art4All reflects the Holland Area Arts Council commitment to creativity, accessibility, and community. By working together we can ensure that adults with disabilities have ongoing access to art experiences that enrich their lives and our community.
