Puppet Palooza: A Day of Creativity and Performance
Thursday, June 25 | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Holland Area Arts Council
Step into the magical world of puppetry during this special family-friendly celebration presented by the Holland Area Arts Council and the West Michigan Puppetry Guild.
Throughout the day, visitors of all ages are invited to explore the art, history, and creativity of puppetry through hands-on activities, interactive performances, and colorful displays. Create your own puppet in a free puppet-making workshop, meet roaming puppeteers as they bring characters to life throughout the building, and discover a fascinating collection of hand puppets, marionettes, and educational exhibits highlighting the rich tradition of puppetry.
Young puppeteers will have opportunities to perform, practice, and take photos on miniature puppet stages designed just for creative play and imagination.
Every hour, on the hour, see a puppet performance by puppeteer and artist Jason Yancey, Artistic Director of Dragoncillo Puppet Troupe and Chair of Modern Languages and Literatures at Grand Valley State University. Jason's innovative shadow theater combines storytelling, visual artistry, and movement to create an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.
All activities and performances are free to attend. Bring the whole family and experience a day filled with creativity, storytelling, and wonder. Tips will be accepted.
Presented in partnership with the West Michigan Puppetry Guild.
