ESSENTIAL ARTS

The Essential Arts programming at the Holland Area Art Council strives to create accessible art opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. In addition to our in-house programs at the HAAC, we visit and service area organizations with a variety of art activities.

Art For All
For more than 36 years, Art for All has been dedicated to serving the special needs community. The program offers year-round classes taught once a week on Mondays at 6:00pm for an hour and a half. Attendance ranges from 13 to 20 students each week. Art for All cultivates a welcoming and engaging environment, promoting students to explore diverse art forms such as printmaking, weaving, clay sculpture, painting, wood construction, and dance.

Creative Aging Programming (Arts 50+)
Here at the Holland Area Arts Council, we provide a free, on-site, specially designed arts programming for community seniors (50 years and older) called Arts 50+ instructed by local artist, Carolyn Stich. Held once a month, now offering 2 sessions, at 11am - 12pm or 1pm - 2pm. Arts 50+ is a social program in which encourages those that are 50 years old or better to immerse themselves in hands-on artistic experimentation. All necessary supplies are provided by the HAAC. Registration is available on our website with 40 spots per class available until full. This class is funded in part by Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area

Art Carts
To fulfill the community's need for exceptional arts and design projects, the Holland Area Arts Council developed Art Carts. These vibrant and inviting pushcarts serve as portable classrooms, bringing creativity directly to the streets, park parties, community picnics, and outreach centers. Equipped with all the necessary supplies, these Art Carts ensure accessible and engaging artistic experiences for all.

Cultural Classroom
Immerse your school or homeschool students in a unique educational experience through our Cultural Classroom program! This initiative combines engaging gallery visits to the HAAC with culturally themed art projects, providing enriching field trips for young learners.
