Saturday, February 21, from 1-5 pm, bring
your dancing shoes and Zumba for a cause with the All For One Dance Program
at Christ Memorial Church (595 Graafschap Rd.).
“Our aim with this fundraiser is to not only raise funds
for our dance program but also to promote exercise by dancing and show our
youth how much fun it can be,” said Norma Luna, program coordinator.
“Our mission in All For One is ‘physical fitness in our youth
through dance and exercise,’ and we want to share that with the community.”
Certified Zumba instructor, Maria Schaefer will be the lead instructor for
the day and will lead everyone through the steps of Zumba, a fitness program
inspired by Latin dance that celebrates all cultures through the diversity
of music.
Throughout the afternoon, as everyone dances, videos of past performances
and classes by All For One will be shown and during the dance breaks local,
guest entertainment will be provided.
Tickets are $8 and are available only at the door.
What is Zumba? Zumba incorporates footwork and body movements from flamenco,
salsa and other dances. Participants pump their legs, windmill their arms,
gyrate their hips, clap their hands, dip, slide and spin to Latin music. It's
a party! Zumba (pronounced ZOOM-buh) is Colombian slang for “fast.”
Public should be aware that this is FAST dancing and the organization is
not responsible for any accidents or injuries during the event.
