Have you ever thought about taking a FUN art class, but don’t know what type of art medium you should try first? Drawing FUN-damentals is the perfect place to start because it allows you to explore your creative side with students whose talents range from being unable to draw a straight line to those with some previous drawing skills. BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Welcome to the world of tomorrow! You’ve decided to make the leap from a traditional film camera to a digital and realize you don’t know what all the crazy buttons do. Don’t panic, take a deep breath, and sign up for this class. We will help you understand the ins and outs of the menus and help you learn to take some beautiful photographs. LET’S GET DIGITAL!
Okay, you’ve been working with your camera and want to learn some more about its deep dark secrets. This intermediate class is designed to help you get the most out of your digital SLR, or any digital camera that allows you to manually make changes to your F-Stop and shutter speeds. We will help you discover the wonderful and complex functions of your camera. You will learn about advanced compositions, and artful images. Classes will be broken into various exercises, ranging from product and portrait photography to nighttime photography and post production. We will experiment with photography under various light sources/situations. Please bring a tripod.

BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO PHOTOSHOP
Spend some time learning what Photoshop can do for your digital images. We will go over the basics of this monster of a program, from digital retouching and cropping of photos, to creating artful images using some of the other functions. BELLY DANCE
Belly Dance has intrigued and fascinated people since the dawn of time. Whatever you choose to call it, Raqs Sharqi, Oriental Dance, Middle Eastern Dance or simply “Belly Dancing,” it will always be fascinating. This class is perfect for the recreational dancer or the “starting from scratch” first time adventurer, and absolutely NO experience is required in any style of dance! Each class will start with proper warm-up based on Pilates and Yoga, to make sure your body is ready for the challenge. INTERMEDIATE BELLY DANCE $68 ($55)
Intermediate class is for the dancer who is comfortable with a myriad of variations and layering movements and who is suited to make the transition from recreation into a more disciplined approach to dance.
Students will learn elements from Ballet and Jazz to enhance the belly dancing flow and be introduced to the use of basic props like a veil or cane. Be ready for new challenges, traveling steps, sophisticated variations, isolations and fun undulations! Learn to dance with full body technique, not only with your feet! WEST COAST SWING
West Coast Swing originated in the dancehalls of San Diego as far back as 1938.
Modern WCS can be danced with upright posture and be smooth and warm, or be a funky, hot partnered-jazz dance. Rhythm and Blues is often used as standard WCS music; however it is frequently danced to popular Top 40 tunes. Come experience the endless possibilities of West Coast Swing.

SALSA
Salsa is fun, flirty and easy to learn. There are many styles of Salsa, depending upon the region in the United States. It can be easily done on a very small or a very crowded dance floor in a nightclub. Club style indicates that it is an informal style and somewhat loose. Instructor: Andre Mathews

RHYTHM TAP
A traditional, basic study of the elements of rhythm tap dance designed for the beginning or novice dancer. This course is about the joy of creating “foot music!” Participants will develop a basic mastery of tap fundamentals and learn choreography in an energizing and affirming class format. This course builds on the technical foundations of tap dance and leads to time steps, paradiddles and other more intricate forms. BALLET FUNDAMENTALS
Ballet is not only a lovely art form; it is also a great workout! Come join us for a ballet barre and center, complete with plie and grand battement, and a stretching series to improve flexibility. This course will be great for those who are new to this form of dance or for those who studied ballet in the past. Leotard and tights are recommended with a ballet skirt if you would like! JAM!
If you’re all about the rhythm…we’re all about having you join us. Whether your instrument is a conga drum or a tap shoe, come and make some music with us! JAM is an event open to musicians, tap dancers and community members who are interested in learning about, creating and listening to rhythm. Holland is shouldering up with cities like Berlin,
Chicago, London, New York and Vienna to host a series of Tap/Rhythm Jams; a meeting of hands and feet as drummers and tap dancers work together to work the groove. The JAM is free, so come play, dance or just take in the music for as much time as you wish! You are welcome to enjoy part or all of JAM! No need to pre-register, just come on down to the Arts Council from 6-8 PM on the third Fridays of September, October and November!
Rosanne Barton-DeVries from the Hope College dance department and Co-Director of IDT (InSync Dance Theatre) will lead the tap work. Andrew Snyder, Program Director of the Arts Council and local musician, along with some special guests, will host the beats. Percussionists and tap dancers of all levels are encouraged to attend!

Zumba is a fitness program inspired by Latin dance, combining Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic routine that is fun and easy to follow. Take a deep breath and develop your flexibility, balance, strength, and poise. This yoga class caters to all levels of practice, whether you are a beginner, or have been practicing yoga for quite some time. Modifications and adjustments for the poses will be discussed so that the movements are appropriate for your level of practice.
